A seismic event of magnitude 3.0 affected the territory of the province of L'Aquila in the evening at 21:45. Based on surveys conducted by the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology, the epicenter was located two kilometers east of Barete, northwest of the Abruzzo capital, with geographical coordinates of 42.4577 latitude and 13.3055 longitude.

The news outlet RaiNews reported that the hypocenter was calculated at a shallow depth of eleven kilometers. This characteristic made the ground-level vibration clearly perceptible, generating reports from residents of nearby hamlets and some districts located west of the city, such as Coppito and Pettino.

Immediate checks carried out by firefighters and civil protection ruled out critical issues concerning buildings. Indeed, emergency services did not receive requests for intervention regarding collapses or structural damage, confirming the absence of material damage to the local infrastructure network following the tremor felt by citizens.

The phenomenon follows other minor seismic activity recorded in the Abruzzo region on October 29 in the territory of Palena, in the province of Chieti. In that area, a nighttime event of magnitude 2.6 had occurred at a depth of fifteen kilometers, followed in the afternoon by two further instrumental aftershocks of magnitude 2.2.
