The day of the general strike on October 30 recorded numerous demonstrations in the main cities of Italy. The initiative, called primarily by the Unione Sindacale di Base, was organized to protest the rising cost of living, government economic policies, and the increase in military spending, while also demanding higher wages and more resources for essential public services. According to reports from RaiNews, the mobilization involved a heterogeneous audience composed of workers, trade unions, and student delegations.

In Rome, the march started from Piazza dei Cinquecento, while in Milan approximately twenty-five thousand participants headed toward the East Ring Road. Substantial demonstrations were also recorded in Naples, where hundreds of students marched along Via Reggia di Portici, and in Cagliari, with over fifteen thousand attendees. Other initiatives took place in Florence, Pescara, Perugia, Verona, and Bologna, with widespread youth participation.

The protest also directly affected maritime logistics activities, with blockades reported at the Albertazzi port gate in Genoa and at the port of La Spezia, as part of a mobilization of the sector. In Treviso, some colored eggs were thrown against the local headquarters of Confindustria, while in Turin farmers dumped manure.

Moments of tension with law enforcement were noted in Mestre, where the police contained an attempt to advance onto the overpass toward Venice, and in Vicenza, with the use of water cannons near the West Ring Road.
