Gabriel Rufián (ERC) and Irene Montero (Podemos), candidates for the Spanish elections on November 29, were jointly interviewed on David Broncano's program "La Revuelta". Despite a united campaign, without integrating into the "Frente Amplio", the politicians discussed, as reported by RTVE, crucial issues such as housing, immigration, and the strategies of the left.

On housing, Rufián and Montero agreed on the need to combat speculation: Montero proposed a ban and expropriation for social rent; Rufián criticized the ineffectiveness of government measures on prices. Regarding the division of the left, Rufián hoped for a PSOE government controlled by progressive forces, while Montero attributed the fragmentation to disagreement over the pact with the PSOE.

On immigration, disagreement emerged: Rufián called it a challenge, not a problem, criticizing the right wing. Montero shifted the focus to the “true invaders” such as Airbnb and tourist apartments. On Catalan independence, Rufián reiterated his support for a referendum. Montero, while defending the right to decide, prefers a Catalonia within Spain.

The interview touched upon the allegations of alleged harassment against Íñigo Errejón. Rufián expressed “maximum surprise”. Montero stated that “many people knew about it” and that power grants impunity. She defined this situation as a “rape culture”, to be fought without looking away and to break the system.
