The European Commission does not intend to include deadlines for the accession negotiations of Ukraine and Moldova in the upcoming roadmaps. Ukrainska Pravda reports this, citing internal EU sources. This move suggests a cautious approach by Brussels, avoiding setting definitive timeframes for the entry of the two candidate countries into the Union.

European Pravda's sources have confirmed the absence of foreseen dates for the conclusion of negotiations. However, the approach to drafting the roadmaps could change. Such an evolution is expected before the publication of the enlargement package on November 4, making every current version provisional.

This position contrasts with a media report that hypothesized the conclusion of Ukrainian negotiations by 2029. Last July, Taras Kachka, then Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister, had stated Kyiv's goal to complete the reforms required for EU accession by the end of 2027, highlighting different expectations.

Moldova also aims to conclude negotiations by 2028 and to join the European Union in 2030. The Commission's enlargement package will be presented on November 4, outlining the next steps for the candidate countries, but without strict deadlines for the definitive conclusion of negotiations.
