The president of the Court of Milan, Fabio Roia, has formally sent a communication to the prefect and the police commissioner to verify whether the preliminary investigating judge Tiziana Landoni requires protection measures. As reported by RaiNews, the request follows the appearance of numerous threatening messages online after the non-validation of the arrest and the release from prison of Youssef Siher, who is under investigation as part of the inquiry into the channels of the October 17 Movement.

The checks ordered by judicial leaders identified intimidating phrases and verbal attacks, documented in a dossier also forwarded to the Public Prosecutor's Office and the General Prosecutor's Office. The National Association of Magistrates of Milan denounced the gravity of the sexist defamatory attacks directed at both the investigating judge and the public prosecutor Francesca Crupi, whose image was mistakenly confused online with that of the ruling magistrate, reaffirming full solidarity with the judges involved.

In the release order, the judge established the absence of serious evidence of guilt and of precautionary requirements against the thirty-year-old, stressing that his messages did not contain incitement to violent actions. The defense, led by lawyer Benedetto Ciaccarone, had argued the non-existence of grounds for detention, while the district anti-terrorism prosecutor's office requested precautionary detention in prison.

The decision provoked sharp political reactions, including criticism from Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and replies from the opposition and the ANM. Meanwhile, several judicial and lay members of the High Council of the Judiciary formally requested the opening of a procedure to protect the Milanese magistrate, emphasizing the need to preserve the autonomy and serenity of the jurisdictional function.
