Ukrainian defense forces record a steady increase in the interception of Russian jet-powered drones. An analysis by the Ukrainian General Staff indicates that in the last three months, the average downing rate for Geran-4s has reached almost 60%. During specific attacks, success against jet drones can reach 80%, improving the effectiveness of countermeasures.

Tactical aviation (F-16, Mirage, MiG-29) plays a significant role. The strengthening of short-range air defense (SHORAD) is a priority due to the shortage of guided missiles. SHORAD includes anti-aircraft systems (Gepard, Shilka), new Skynex, Skyranger, Terrahawk Paladin, interceptor drones, and mobile fire groups.

Mobile fire groups employ machine guns and MANPADS, achieving success against enemy drones. Work is also underway to reduce the cost of countermeasures. New interceptors are being tested; some have already shot down, according to the General Staff, several dozens of Russian jet-powered Geran drones.

On the Russian front, the Geran-5 K5-K modification of the Geran-5 jet drone has been introduced. Ukraine responds by developing internal solutions: two teams are preparing national surface-to-air missiles. Kyiv already employs seven interceptors effective in downing such drones, as reported by `Ukrainska Pravda`.
