Ioan Varga, owner of the Romanian club CFR Cluj, has harshly criticized his team's match scheduling, calling it "absurd" and "a mockery." According to HotNews, the discontent emerged after the 2-2 draw with Dinamo București on October 25. The club must now face three official matches in just six days, a schedule considered excessively tight and problematic for athlete recovery.
This sequence of commitments includes the Romanian Cup challenge against Universitatea Cluj, set for October 28, and the SuperLiga match against Petrolul Ploiești, scheduled for October 31. Varga has supported coach Marius Șumudică, who is considering using young players in the Cup match, a decision dictated by the short recovery times between matches for the first team.
The financier's statements, cited by HotNews, suggest an intent to "destroy" the club through such scheduling. Varga highlighted the importance of equitable schedules, complaining about unfair advantages and disadvantages for teams. He also emphasized how crucial athletes' physical recovery is, calling it unacceptable to play with such frequency in so little time.
Although CFR Cluj entered insolvency this season, Varga wanted to reaffirm the club's tenacity. He expressed regret for what he perceives as a "lack of respect and gratitude" towards the successes achieved by the team in the Romanian football landscape. However, the owner assured that the club will not give up easily and will continue to fight for its goals.
