A very serious accident between two high-speed trains operated by the companies Iryo and Renfe occurred in Urda, in the Spanish province of Toledo. According to broadcaster RTVE, the dramatic toll includes at least sixty-nine confirmed victims and dozens of people injured following the violent collision on the tracks.

The impact involved the Iryo 6079 train, causing the immediate suspension of rail traffic on the Madrid-Andalusia high-speed line in both directions. As a logistical response to this emergency, the Renfe company decided to halt ticket sales for the route until the month of December.

Meanwhile, forensic teams have completed forty-eight autopsies and identified five deceased individuals. The Guardia Civil has formally invited immediate relatives to provide DNA samples to facilitate the identification of the missing. The triggering causes of the crash remain uncertain, although preliminary investigations point toward the hypothesis of human error.

Following the tragedy, the Spanish government declared three days of official national mourning, scheduled for October 29, 30, and 31. In addition, Minister of Transport Óscar Puente announced that he will appear on November 3 before the Diputación Permanente of the Congress of Deputies to report on the facts.
