A new CURS institute poll, published by `HotNews`, examined voting intentions in Romania after the inauguration of the Niculescu government. For parliamentary elections, AUR would stand at 34% of the votes. The Social Democratic Party (PSD) would obtain 26%, and the National Liberal Party (PNL) 16%. USR (8%) and UDMR (5%) would exceed the electoral threshold.

Compared to a CURS poll from September, AUR is stable. The PSD gained one point, while the PNL lost two. The October survey shows skepticism about the country's direction: 77% of respondents believe Romania is heading in the wrong direction, compared to 18% who evaluate it positively.

The PSD's entry into government is perceived in a divided manner. 25% of participants consider it “very correct”, 13% “correct”. But 34% judge it “not very correct”, 23% “very incorrect”. CURS sociologists note responses concentrated in the extreme categories.

Among the priorities for the Niculescu government, Romanians indicated price/cost of living reduction (41%), wage/pension increase (39%), and tax reduction (27%). The CURS poll was conducted from October 22 to 27, 2026, on 1,068 respondents. `HotNews` specifies that CURS is owned by Iosif Buble, a former journalist and husband of PSD deputy Diana Tușa.
