Daniel Bălăceanu, Romanian entrepreneur and co-founder of DruidAI, shared his vision on artificial intelligence (AI) in an interview with HotNews. From New York, he met with President Nicușor Dan at the end of September. Discussions covered the application of AI in Romanian public services, IT security, and university education. Bălăceanu declared himself optimistic about the future of this technology.

DruidAI, founded in 2017 with Liviu Drăgan, develops platforms for virtual assistants and AI agents. The company has raised over 80 million dollars in funding, including 31 million announced in September 2025. With more than 200 employees, the technology is produced in Bucharest. DruidAI operates globally, maintaining offices in Europe, America, and the Middle East.

Bălăceanu explained that AI agents can autonomously understand, draw conclusions, and act, optimizing various services. However, he warned about the inherent risks, comparing AI to nuclear energy, which requires expert control. He expressed concern about «AI Slop», meaning the difficulty of distinguishing authentic information from artificially generated content.

To counteract disinformation, Bălăceanu hypothesizes that AI itself will evolve to verify other AI systems, ensuring greater content reliability. He praised the initiative of the Romanian Presidential Administration on these issues, hoping for concrete actions. He reiterated that the ultimate responsibility for the use of AI remains human, with education being crucial to manage its power.
