A driver died in a serious accident on the A22 motorway, between Verona Nord and Affi. Four heavy vehicles were involved in the collision: three were transporting hay, one foodstuffs. The northbound motorway section was closed, as reported by RaiNews, to allow for complex rescue operations and securing of the roadway.

Firefighters, Traffic Police, and motorway operators promptly intervened at the scene of the accident. Two other injured drivers were rescued by Suem 118 medical personnel and transported by ambulance. Road restoration and vehicle removal operations are expected to be lengthy, causing significant traffic disruptions.

A similar rear-end collision affected the A4 motorway this afternoon, between Portogruaro and San Stino di Livenza, at approximately 4:30 PM. Here too, four heavy vehicles were involved, leading to the closure of the motorway section. Fortunately, this second incident did not record any fatalities, but only three minor injuries.

The repercussions on traffic were extensive for both motorways involved. On the A4, long queues formed in both directions. The competent authorities continue investigations to define the precise dynamics of the accidents and restore normal traffic and road safety as soon as possible.
