Azzurri captain Filippo Volandri has announced the call-ups for the Davis Cup Final 8, which will take place in Bologna. Flavio Cobolli, Lorenzo Musetti, and Luciano Darderi have been chosen for the singles matches, while for the doubles, confidence has been placed in the well-established pair formed by Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori. The Italian national team is preparing to defend the three consecutive titles won in previous editions of the prestigious international competition.

The final phase of the tournament will kick off on November 24 in Bologna, with Italy's debut scheduled for November 25 in the quarterfinals, where they will face South Korea. As reported by RaiNews, the Italian Tennis and Padel Federation has specified that the regulations allow for the substitution of a maximum of three players from the initial list. Any changes must be communicated by 11:00 AM on the day preceding the start of the matches.

Volandri explained that the current selection is based on the players' rankings, but he also emphasized the importance of the coming weeks to monitor the physical condition and availability of each athlete. The captain's stated goal is to show up for the event with the best possible lineup. The pool of Italian talents is deep, also including Matteo Berrettini, Matteo Arnaldi, and Lorenzo Sonego as possible alternatives for the decisive phase.

Concluding his announcement, Volandri invited fans to continue supporting the team with the same enthusiasm that has characterized recent victories. He also extended his best wishes for a speedy recovery to Jannik Sinner, expressing hope to see him back on court soon in the Azzurri jersey. The Bologna event represents an important milestone for Italian tennis.
