The Consulate General of Spain in Rabat has implemented new procedures for Schengen and long-stay visa applications. The directives, dated October 23, 2026, concern appointments and direct submissions. Hespress reports that the objective is to optimize the process for applicants in Morocco, improving the efficiency and access to Spanish consular services.

For short-stay Schengen visas, BLS appointments are scheduled: Tuesdays at 5:00 PM for first-time training applicants; Wednesdays at 4:00 PM for those who have had a Schengen visa in the last four years; Saturdays at 1:00 PM for others. Some eligible categories can also submit applications directly at the BLS center on weekday mornings, without an online appointment.

Procedures for long-stay visas (employment, family reunification, residency) vary by category, with some requiring direct contact with the consulate. Applicants for training courses exceeding 90 days can submit documents directly on Mondays, without an appointment. This flexibility facilitates the process for extended study programs.

These new directives in Rabat reflect an adaptation to user needs. The introduction of specific time slots and distinct procedures aims to make the process more organized and accessible. Hespress has highlighted that the updates, effective since late October, are important for residents in Morocco who intend to travel to Spain.
