A fire broke out inside the oil refinery located in the city of Novokuybyshevsk, in Russia's Samara region, following a drone raid conducted on the morning of October 30. The news was reported by the outlet Ukrainska Pravda, citing information circulated by local Telegram channels including Astra and Exilenova+.

Residents of the area reported loud explosions and the response of air defense in the early hours of the day. An official air raid alert was issued in the oblast around 06:00, when operations were already underway, and the competent authorities simultaneously ordered the closure of the regional airport for security reasons during the emergency.

The Novokuybyshevsk industrial facility has belonged to the Rosneft corporate group since 2007 and records an annual production capacity of approximately 8.8 million tons of crude oil. The complex produces various types of fuel, including gasoline and diesel complying with Euro 5 standards, fuel for military aircraft, bitumen, and petroleum coke.

The same energy infrastructure had already been affected by a previous attack on the night between August 21 and 22, an event followed by a fire and a subsequent statement by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy regarding targeted actions against the refinery and a logistics center in the oblast.
