The United States Embassy in Tirana has issued a formal notice to its citizens, urging them to exercise extreme caution and stay away from areas affected by marches and demonstrations in the capital. According to the Albanian public broadcaster RTSH, the alert comes ahead of a new mobilization scheduled for Saturday.

The diplomatic mission noted that gatherings in the city center and in front of government buildings continue, recalling that some previous rallies escalated into violent clashes involving the throwing of stones, incendiary devices, and property damage. New protests could also take place in the following days both in Tirana and in other cities across Albania, spreading to adjacent streets.

The alert warns of potential hazards in demonstration areas, such as exposure to tear gas, fireworks, rubber bullets, and incendiary materials. For these reasons, diplomatic staff have been instructed to completely avoid the affected areas. The mission also anticipated an increased police presence, traffic diversions, and possible disruptions to transportation or services.

The embassy recommended that US residents and travelers follow updates from local media and official instructions, monitor their surroundings, and prepare a contingency plan to leave gathering sites promptly if necessary.
